Story Unfold is a wedding website builder that helps couples create a beautiful online home for their wedding — their story, RSVP, photos, and more. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Story Unfold, how we use it, and your rights over that information.

1. Who We Are

Story Unfold ("we," "our," or "us") is owned and operated as a sole proprietorship registered in the Philippines. You can reach us at support.storyunfold@gmail.com for any privacy-related concerns.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to operate the platform. This falls into two categories:

Information you provide directly

  • Account registration: Your name and email address when you create an account.
  • Wedding website content: Information you choose to add to your wedding website — such as couple names, event date, venue, love story text, photos, bridal party names, and schedule details. You control all of this content.
  • RSVP responses: When guests submit an RSVP on your wedding website, we collect their name, attendance status, meal preference, number of guests, and any optional message they include. This data is collected on your behalf and made accessible to you as the website owner.
  • Guestbook entries: Messages, photos, audio, or video submitted by guests through your wedding website's guestbook feature.
  • Payment information: Payments for Standard and Premium plans are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. We do not store your credit card number or billing details on our servers.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic usage data such as pages visited and features used, to help us improve the platform.
  • Device and browser type, for debugging and compatibility purposes.
  • IP address, for security and fraud prevention.

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising purposes. We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your Story Unfold account
  • Build, display, and host your wedding website
  • Deliver RSVP responses and guestbook entries to you
  • Process your payment through Lemon Squeezy
  • Send you transactional emails (e.g. account confirmation, payment receipt)
  • Provide customer support when you contact us
  • Improve and maintain the platform

4. Your Wedding Website and Guest Data

When your guests visit your wedding website and submit an RSVP or guestbook entry, they are providing personal information to you (the couple) through our platform. You are responsible for informing your guests that their information will be collected and for using that data only for wedding-related purposes.

Wedding websites on the free plan include a small Story Unfold branding badge. Paid plans remove this badge. Your wedding website stays live for as long as your account is active.

5. Sharing of Information

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Lemon Squeezy — our payment processor, for handling Standard and Premium plan purchases.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — to store and serve your website data.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Wedding website content and associated RSVP/guestbook data are retained indefinitely while your account remains active.

If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our systems within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), you have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion
  • Object to processing
  • Data portability

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to maintain your session on the platform. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

Story Unfold is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the platform.

Continued use of Story Unfold after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
